My Hometown

I will write about my hometown. My hometown is Ushibuka in Kumamoto
prefecture. There are a lot of great places and things in Ushibuka. Ushibuka is encircled
by the sea and the mountains. People who live in Ushibuka are very kind and have
tender hearts. I will write three things about Ushibuka.
First, I will write about the Haiya festival. The Ushibuka Haiya Festival has been
carried out every year since the Edo era. A lot of tourists visit Ushibuka to enjoy seeing
the festival, including foreigners. If you think that you want to participate in the
festival when you come, you can participate in the festival with ease, so all the tourists
can enjoy the festival even if they are not the people of the district. Strangely enough, It
often rains in my hometown on the day of the festival. When I was a junior high school
student, I wanted to participate in the festival, but I never participated from when I was
a junior high school student because the festival was rained out every year. I want to go
back to my hometown to participate in the festival, but I could not. I was very sad, but I
am looking forward to going back next year.
         
Next, I will write about the Haiya bridge. There is a bridge which is called the
Haiya bridge in Ushibuka. The bridge is the longest in Kumamoto prefecture and has
an overall length of 883 meters. We can enjoy seeing the beautiful scenery of Ushibuka
from the top of Haiya bridge, moreover as it gets dark, the bridge is illuminated. The
scenery is very beautiful and makes me calm. If you have never seen it, I want you to
visit.
         
Finally, I will write about bathing places. Ushibuka is famous for its beautiful sea.
There are a lot of fresh seafood and bathing places in Ushibuka. The most popular
bathing place is Mogushi. A lot of people visit there to swim in the sea. Now Mogushi
has become widely known. When I was a child, I used to go there to swim in the sea with
my local friends. We enjoyed swimming and jumping into the sea. I don’t like swimming
in the sea but I like smelling the tang of sea air and seeing the seascape. I want to go
there with my friends in summer. If you like swimming in the sea, would you like to go
